No Knead Sandwich Bread

A simple and delicious No Knead Sandwich Bread recipe that creates a soft, fluffy loaf perfect for sandwiches or toast.

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1 cup warm water (around 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water. Sprinkle in the yeast and let it sit until frothy (5-10 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt (5 minutes).
  3. Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms (5 minutes).
  4. Cover the bowl and let it rise in a warm spot until it doubles in size (1 hour).
  5. Punch down the risen dough, shape it into a loaf and let it rise again for 30 minutes in a greased loaf pan (40 minutes total).
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough is rising (10 minutes).
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before slicing (10 minutes).

Notes

For a crispier crust, brush the top with water before baking. Store at room temperature wrapped tightly for 2-3 days or freeze for later.
