One Pot Creamy Garlic Pasta

A comforting and creamy garlic pasta dish that’s easy to prepare in one pot. Perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups milk (whole preferred)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons cream cheese or sour cream, chopped parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter (or heat olive oil) in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the dry pasta, milk, and enough water to barely cover the pasta. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until cheese is melted and sauce thickens.
  6. If desired, mix in cream cheese or sour cream for extra creaminess.
  7. Garnish with parsley or basil and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter and milk are at room temperature before preparing. Adjust seasoning to taste.
