Peppermint Chocolate Blossom Cookies

Delicious soft chocolate cookies topped with a melted peppermint kiss and crushed peppermint, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peppermint candy kisses
  • Crushed peppermint for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture, blending at low speed.
  6. Roll dough into balls (about 1-1.5 inches) and place them on a baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between each ball.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges look set.
  8. Press a peppermint kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after taking them out of the oven.
  9. Sprinkle crushed peppermint on top while the cookies are still warm.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Keep cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. Chill dough before baking to prevent spreading.
