  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, melt butter and stir in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  3. Combine cocoa powder, flour, and salt, then stir into the wet mixture. Optionally fold in chocolate chips.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, pumpkin puree, egg yolk, vanilla, and pumpkin pie spice, mixing until combined.
  5. Pour most of the brownie batter into the pan, add pumpkin cheesecake mixture, and top with remaining brownie batter. Swirl gently.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool completely before slicing.
