Quick Beef Stir-Fry

A quick and flavor-packed beef stir-fry that is perfect for busy weeknights, combining tender beef, vibrant vegetables, and savory sauces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef sirloin, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes while you prep your veggies.
  2. Heat the pan: In a wok or a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  3. Cook the beef: Add the marinated beef to the hot pan in a single layer. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until it is browned but not overcooked. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  4. Sauté aromatics: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they’re slightly tender.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the pan, pour in the beef broth and hoisin sauce, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Finish with sesame oil, if using, and serve over jasmine rice.

Notes

Ensure your pan is hot enough before adding the beef. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Marinate the beef and chop veggies ahead of time for quicker dinner prep.
