Ingredients
Scale
1 pound lean ground beef
1 large egg
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
1 medium onion, sliced or chopped
8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 3/4 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined and shape into 4 oval patties.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Remove patties and cover to keep warm, leaving fat in the pan.
Add sliced onions and mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 7-9 minutes until softened.
Add butter to the skillet, melt, then sprinkle flour and stir continuously for 1-2 minutes.
Slowly whisk in beef broth until the mixture thickens. Add remaining Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
Return the patties and veggies to the skillet. Simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey. Add fresh herbs for another layer of flavor!
