  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan.
  2. Mash ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to bananas and mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix just until combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Mix together sugar and cinnamon for the topping, sprinkle it over the batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar. Ensure bananas are very ripe for natural sweetness.
