Spooky Spider Web Pizza

A fun and festive Halloween pizza decorated with a spider web design made from sour cream and olives.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound store-bought or homemade pizza dough
  • ¾ cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 2 ½ cups low-moisture whole milk shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1 can (6 ounces) jumbo black olives, pitted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now.
  2. On a floured surface, stretch and shape your pizza dough into a circle or rectangle, about 12 inches in diameter.
  3. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the base, leaving about an inch around the edges for the crust. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  4. In a squeeze bottle or a plastic bag, fill with sour cream. Snip a small hole and pipe concentric circles starting from the center, dragging a toothpick from the center to edge to create a web.
  5. Place whole olives on the pizza for spider bodies and use sliced olives for legs. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Optional: Brush crust with olive oil during the last few minutes of baking for a beautiful sheen.
