Tasty Churro Donut Bites

Deliciously fluffy donut bites with a crispy churro exterior, coated in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  4. In a deep pan, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels; coat in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  7. Serve warm with dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use almond milk and coconut oil. For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
